Review of our 5th Drug Delivery Conference

It was a great pleasure to welcome 100 attendees from seven countries to our 5th Losan Drug Delivery Conference in Frankfurt on February 7th 2024. Focused on current topics and new technologies in drug delivery, the conference organised by Losan Pharma takes place every two years.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the participants of our conference: representatives of pharmaceutical companies and universities, service providers, device and excipient manufacturers, competitors and, last but not least, our colleagues from Losan Pharma.

We are grateful for the time and effort the speakers took to share their experiences and give us insights into current drug delivery topics and new technologies:

•Dr. Robin Meier, L. B. Bohle Maschinen und Verfahren GmbH, gave a presentation on QbCon - a new drying technology for sensitive drugs

•Prof. Thomas Rades and Prof. Anette Müllertz, University of Copenhagen, presented The Road Map to ivivc for ASD formulations

•Dr. Meike Harms, Merck Healthcare KGaA, gave us insights into amorphous solid dispersions for PROTAC molecules

•Dr. Wolfgang Mohr and Dr. Matthias Rischer, Losan Pharma, shared some impressions on wet ball milling: a toolbox for various applications to improve bioavailability

•Dr. Anja Stulz and Dr. Ansgar Bögershausen, Losan Pharma, gave a presentation on 3D printing - from development to GMP

•Dr. Jochen Scher, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, shared his findings on the development of in vivo relevant dissolution methods

•Dr. Michael Black, Beneo GmbH, spoke about nanoformulation for enhanced drug delivery and better patient compliance

•Dr. Johannes Büscher, University of Saarland, presented a microfluidic nanoparticulate encapsulation method for novel drug substances

Many thanks to the chairperson of our conference François Boutignon from Aptys, France, for the excellent moderation, his overview and his commitment and to Matthias Rischer, the co-chair, for the many hours and days he put into organising the event and making it a success.
